According to the news on the web, here are the summary about companies still hiring in the USA:
Tech companies in teh Silicon Valley are beginning to add their workforce. For example, Yahoo, Cisco and Google. Mobile sector is also good. Suppliers for Apple's iPod and laptops are hiring.
In the media business, Bloomberg is hiring. Bloomberg plans to hire an additional 450 journalists and R&D specialists (on top of a worldwide population of 10,600).
Advertising business sector has some bright spots. Erwin-Penland, a small agency in Greenville, S.C., has hired 50 people this year to get its total to 230 and has plans for another 20--mostly senior designers and copywriters.

I think in Silicon Valley there are a lot of chances right now :)
It is relatively robust to the bad economy comparing to Finance industry.

Yeah. There is always a need for tech, no matter what the economy is. For me, I am doing tech, but learning marketing. The wonderful thing doing tech is that I would feel safe since it is skillset companies need. But, the bad thing for tech is that you don't control your own destiny.
Something happened to the company, then, you are done. So, small biz is the way to go, at least at this stage for me.

hahaha, you got it. It is part of a "possible" source for some revenue. But, to be frank, it is not reliable nor anywhere near significant yet to support even this small site.
This site is mainly out of my passion to share/discuss web related topics. I have enough income from my consulting services to pay for the hosting for now.
