Recommended Seattle Bellevue Furnace Installation Services From $3195
Below is a list of good furnace installation companies I've used, heard about or inquired about.
Overlake Heating & Air Conditioning
Lennox's 95% AFUE, two-stage furnace (Model G61) installed for $3195, plus tax. This is the most straight-forward service I found which actually give you the price upfront.
Columbia Heating
Mark, 206-708-0999. Someone found Mark's promotion on Craigslist, also found good reviews about him on ServiceMagic.com. Installed the single-stage 80% AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) furnace. Overlake heating's price was $1795 + tax. Mark charged only $1190 + $75 for programmable thermostat. Also you may avoid tax if you pay cash ;-)
The furnace installed was with 10 year warranty (including parts). Mark provides 1 year free warranty, after one year it is $70/hour service charge.
He also provides free estimate.
Bel Red Heating And Air Conditioning
They don't give furnace quote over the phone. They can get a sales rep to come in and do a two hour consultation. Available during the daytime or Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 5-7pm. Consultation is free.
Greenwood Heating & Air Conditioning
They are also by appointment only to give a quote. For furnace, they did mention it would be anywhere between $3000 - $6000, consultation is around one hour.
Washington Energy Services Clearance Furnaces
This company is like the government. Boy, it took me almost an hour to wait on the line and get to one of their sales rep. They mentioned the clearance furnaces on the web page do not qualify for the 30% tax credit. Instead, I have to order a more expensive furnace, like this Affinity 98% AFUE Modulating Furnace. Also, they warned that I need to order before Dec 3rd, otherwise, they can not guarantee the furnace would be installed before end of this year.
Bob's Heating (bobsheating.com)
This one I didn't inquire about furnace installation. But someone mentioned they do good work on furnace maintenance and their work is quite thorough.
Overall, for simply getting a quote for furnace, most companies make you go through the "free" consultation first. But, what might happen is that, when the guy comes to your house for the consultation, it is likely he would try to sell you high end furnaces or accessories.
Besides furnace, I heard some neighbor also installed tankless water heater and pretty good.
Finally,it takes 3 ~ 5 hours to install a new furnace.

It is not easy to find the Puget Sound Energy Rebate Form. Never the less, I managed to find the link,
So you get $100 rebate buying a new ENERGY STAR qualified natural gas, forced-air furnace.
The qualifications are:
--Must install ENERGY STAR qualified equipment with a 90 percent AFUE rating or better
--Cannot have an existing furnace with 90 percent AFUE rating or better
--Natural gas furnace installed with any new or existing heat pump is not eligible
Here is the link for the PSE Rebate Form (PDF)

Ever since we replaced our old furnace with the energy efficient one, our Puget Sound Energy bill dropped a lot. It amounts to $400/year saving.
Also we received a chart saying that we are among the top 12% in the neighborhood in terms of energy efficiency.

My water heater was really old (> 15 years) and had a serious leakage the other day. So I got Overlake Heating coming in and replaced it. Too bad I should have done it last year to take advantage of the energy rebate.
Talking about water heater, today I got a letter from Puget Sound Energy. They are promoting the Energy Star natural gas tankless water heater with a $200 rebate. But, as far as I heard, the tankless water heater typically costs over $3000.

For furnace maintenance, it looks like people would use the same company that installed furnace for them to do maintenance.
