There are sites like monster, careerbuilder and also other sites that offer to broadcast your resume to thousands of recruiters based on your career field. So, is this kind of service good?
To be frank, I have never used such types of sites. There are mainly 3 reasons why you should not use a resume distribution service.
1) I find the good old fashion way of searching for employment works the best. I would recommend searching the sites for available positions and then go directly to them with your resume.
2) I also heard other people tried this type of resume distribute services but regretted it. You are at risk of someone trying to steal your identity, because you are giving out a lot of information about yourself that is going to float around the Internet *permanently*.
3) You wouldn't be able to customize the resume for each company.
So, my advice would be to not use such a service.
Any Resume Service is not a good idea. Any recruiter that asks for $$$ up front is a bad idea. Go to www.Monster.com and www.Careerbuilder.com and follow the steps to post your own Resume at the locations (City and States) where you want to work. Third Party Recruiters are also about 90% ineffective; thats why you always try to respond direct to the actual company hiring.
