Question from Angel: which laguage is better as career development point of view asp.net or PHP? I heard that the salary for php developer is less. Is it true? Please help me to choose between php and .net.
asp.net and php both have their respective market and so far both are good languages to make money off of. So the short answer is, it really depends on your career goal.
If you eventually want to run your own business, like a small software consulting firm or as an independent consultant, php is a good choice. Since there are a lot of websites developed using php, most of them are small to mid-sized companies. That's a good market to serve. Also, considering the fact that wordpress websites (built with php) now powers almost 20% of the whole Internet websites, you can see the market for php is HUGE.
In contrary, asp technology seems on decline. It is more of a higher end platform, equivalent to Java, but owned by Microsoft only. So, there is a danger of vendor lock-in once you are into asp.net programming. Plus, because of the cost of developing asp.net applications, not a lot of small companies are using asp.net.
Granted that php developer salary is less, but if you are aiming for doing your own business, I'd say staying with php is the best bet.
But if your mid to long term goal is to work in a company as an employee rather than starting your own development shop, asp.net might be good.
