User Question: When Is The Best Time To Apply For Jobs In USA?
All depends on your major/aim/company.
Some large companies hire college students since Sept/Oct for next year. Some hire whenever an open exists.
Since job seeking is very tough and time comsuming, I suggest you to apply after the new year so that you can use 2 to 3 months to land a job.
From my experience, there is a large hiring in Oct/Nov. Things become slow in Dec/Jan. An even large hiring in Feb/March.
So if you are graduating in May/June, you had better begin sending out resume in late Dec or early Jan so that you can catch up the hiring in Feb.
And through the application in Jan, although you may fail some of the interviews, you then have learned a lot through it. When Feb comes, you are experienced in job seeking.
Never give up even after March, still a lot of opens because of the declined offers.
In fact, most big companies begin their new fiscal year in Feb after the annual review in Jan, and that is probably the reason when there are more opens in Feb/March. Same as in Oct./Nov (Aug/Sept is review time)
If you are applying interns, then depends more on the company. Some company hire really early, some really late.
