These days the economy is still not good and even though Seattle and Bellevue is kind of the high-tech hub, still I keep hearing about break-in incidences. For example, couple weeks ago, there was a burglary on a Friday afternoon. Details like this:
"At 2:30pm my parents witnessed a break-in at their neighbors house. My mom noticed a suspicious green car parked in front of their neighbor's house and three men walking to the backyard. She tried calling the neighbors home first, to see if the individuals were their teenage son's friends, but when they didn't answer the phone, she called the police. As she was dialing 911, one of the men walked out and loaded the car with a TV.
It turns out they used a rock to shatter the glass on the back door and made their way in. While the police arrived very quickly, unfortunately the thieves took off right before the police arrived. There were three men. Two appeared African American and one was Hispanic.
The police spent three hours investigating at the neighbors house and mentioned they were the 3rd burglary in the area today. Other neighbors who stopped by mentioned there were two Caucasian girls who were knocking on doors earlier in the day asking for individuals who did not live in those homes. This sounded very similar to a recent story in our Oaks community.
There was one lesson learned here. Hopefully there is no 'next time', but the police mentioned instead of double checking to see if a neighbor is home, call 911 directly."
So one of a friend of mine heard this, and immediately installed a security surveillance camera system around his house. What he got is this Q-See 8-Channel Security System with 500 GB Hard Drive and 8 High-resolution Cameras
. You could remote monitor via iPhone, iPad, Android, Blackberry, etc. It is currently selling for $505.99, reg. $999.99.
There is another cheaper one which is this Q-See QS408-811-5 8 Channel H.264 DVR with 8 Indoor/Outdoor Cameras
, $379.99 (reg. $439.99).
The 8 cameras could cover every angle possible, but installation would take some time.
